Sales Race Success

Newtown Stud homebred and consigned Three Sea Captains fought out a hard won victory in the Tattersalls Ireland Super Auction Sales Stakes on Monday 24th September at Fairyhouse under top weight. This follows fast on the heels of his listed win at the Curragh and it appears that there is a big future ahead of this colt.

The son of Choisir out of the Desert Prince mare La Tintoretta was sold by Newtown Stud at Tattersalls Ireland September yearling sale in 2011 to trainer David Wachman for €30,000. Three Sea Captains has now won over €95,000 in prizemoney for his owner Ganly Brothers Partnership.

La Tintoretta has a filly foal by Equiano which is entered in the Goffs November Foal Sale and she is in foal to Jeremy.

Three Sea Captains is the newest chapter in sales race success for Newtown Stud. Ths stud previously consigned the winner of the Tattersalls Ireland Sales Stakes in 2006 with Invincible Force. He was sold for €10,500 to Oakley Racing Stable.

Other sales race success for Newtown Stud graduates include Lucies Pride who was the winner of the Goffs Sportmans Challenge in 2007, Marfach who was second beaten only a short head in the Goffs Million Mile in 2009 and Tale Untold who was second in both the £100,000 Tattersalls Millions Fillies Aution Stakes and the £300,000 Tattersalls Millions 2YO Fillies Trophy in 2010. This is a superb sales race record and we look forward to selling many more future stars in the upcoming sales.
